Weather Poem – Rain

This poem was originally written for a Creative Writing class in December of 2010.

Rain

Rain
Rain comes in whispering like the flutter of wings
Washes the streets and grass in precipitation
In rolling waves of ever falling water
Slowly building in intensity, building speed as it plunges from the sky
Then flies away with the grace of time

Strength

This Poem was written in December of 2010.

Strength

Strength of limb, of muscle and bone.
Strength of mind, of will and thought.
Strength of reflex, of speed and agility.
Strength of heart, of feeling and passion.
So many kinds of strength.

Power to command, a position of authority.
Power of a storm, blinding electricity.
Power of magic, whispered words and incantations.
Power of will, resisting persuasion.
So many kinds of power.

Love between friends, since childhood, met today.
Love of a couple, bonded for life.
Love in a family, blood relation or not.
Love above all that we can do.
Strong love is its own power.

“I Am” Poem

This poem was originally done for my Creative Writing class in Dec 2012.

I Am

I am
Creativity, daydreamer, determination
I love to draw and to make things.
Kindness is important to me.
Loyalty is important to me.
Imagination is important to me.
Diversity is a wonderful thing.
Apathy is bad, but it is a good opportunity to inspire someone.
We need to accept each other.
We need to be creative.
We need to speak to each other, stop shutting others out.
I am.

“Just Because” Poem – Quiet

This poem was originally written for my Creative Writing class in December of 2010.

Quiet

Just becuase I’m quiet
Doesn’t mean I have nothing to say
Doesn’t mean I have no feelings
Don’t talk like I’m not there
Just because I’m quiet
Doesn’t mean I have no opinions
Doesn’t mean I don’t believe
I have something to say
Just becuase I’m quiet
I am ready to listen
I am ready to understand
The words will leave my tongue
Just because I’m quiet my words have greater weight

“I Don’t Understand” Poem – WBC

This poem was written as part of my Creative Writing Class in November of 2010.

It was written the week the Westboro Baptist Church came to town.

WBC

I don’t understand
The words you say
The feelings you feel
The ideas you spread

But most of all
Why you do this
Why you spread your hate
Why you come here

What I understand most is
That we are stronger than you
That you will not stop us
That we will stand together
We are who we are and you will not change us
